Itinerary description
From the top of the Yungusi cablecar 云谷寺索道 12:20pm to the top of the Yuping cablecar 玉屏索道 16:40pm, last loading time, my trail covers most tourist spots except Xihai 西海 Grand Canyon (closed), Lotus peak (no time), and temples (not interested) in one day.
I arrived from Huangshan north train station 黄山北站 to Huangshan south car parking area 黄山(南门)自驾换乘停车场 by cab, about 170元. Bought my park bus ticket and park entrance ticket. Headed to the back mountain. It took one hour to arrive at the Stone Monkey Gazing at Sea of Cloud 猴子观海, and another two hours to Bright Summit Peak 光明顶. From there, picked up my pace through the last tough leg until I saw the Yuping cablecar in view. Had about 30mins left so I visited the Greeting Pine Tree 迎客松. And downloaded to a bus bus waiting at the bottom of the cablecar.
I hope you can plan your own one-day trail. Some of the time estimations by park staff were grossly exaggerated. Almost felt they wanted you to stay a night, and spend more money. However, it doesn’t mean you should take your time walking slowly and take lots of pictures.
Signs to locations were given in both English and Chinese.
If you have WeChat on your cellphone, scan the QR code on the cablecar ticket for lots of good information, including a map, much better than the horrible paper one given.
