North of the skyscraper city, at the mouth of the Dubai Creek, is the old town of Dubai - Deira.
The streets and courtyards of this historic center are pimped up. We visit the museum, some shops, art exhibitions and a small tearoom, stroll through the textile market and take the water taxi to the other side of Creek to the district Deira.
On the spice market, friendly traders explain the exotic spices.

In the Gold Souk, there are kilos of "life insurance" for future wives. Will they lug it under their burqas?
One does not know.
