Itinerary description
This is a circular tour, starting and finishing in the small village of Hovingham; on-street parking is readily available in the village.
It starts with a gentle climb out of the village and then levels out.
Navigation is not entirely straightforward: on exiting South Wood, we should have turned left immediately and then at Wath Wood we made the mistake of entering the wood, rather than walking down on the outside along the edge of a field.
There are some fine views to be had looking northwards from the area around Wath Wood, but the tour does not really have much interest.
