Itinerary description

A beautiful walk along mostly shaded wood paths on unmade road or singltrack. Only the last mile or so is along concrete road, but for adventure try walking along the shore in the mangroves. From Hospital Hill it's downhill almost all the way. For those wanting more challenge then the climb up to the Hospital is for you. There's various ruins you pass along the route including several sugar mills. Plenty of bars for cool drinks before you reach Windward. Check out local boat building before catching a bus or taxi back to Hillsborough. At a reasonable pace the walk will take you about 1.5 - 2 hours

I'm not sure you found this trail properly! The trail from Anse La Roche to Windward is very nice but once you reach the most northern point and start to come south it's all concrete road. I love the trail from Hospital Hill down the east side - have done it a couple of times again recently and it's all track and mostly shady. You are walking through government protected dry forest (we hope it stays that way!). Of course there are many other beautiful trails on Carriacou and I am glad you are enjoying the island. One of my favourite places!

Easy trail with beautiful views. The Green trail line is offset from the track for much of the way, I guess due to older GPS accuracy, which means it is necessary to keep an eye on junctions. In 2 places the green line apparently takes a short cut through scrub rather than following the main track...easier and pleasanter to keep to the track.
