Itinerary description
This is a moderate walk between two marvelous coastal villages. Loutro is very popular with walkers and many get the ferry to Sfakia and walk back to Loutro, or visa versa.
There is much talk on the web about the vertiguous bits of this route and we didn't know whether it was passable for us. However we had no problems at all and I wouldn't say our little group is particularly adventourous in that respect. The path is at least 1.5-2m wide all along the 'difficult' bits and has concrete repairs in some sections, that was in May 2018. In fact for us it was a bit of a disapointment having mentally geared up for a challenging traverse, with the possibility of turning back based on some accounts!
