Itinerary description

Very nice walk. Start at Umbrella Falls Trailhead - short walk to falls, then steady downhill passing through very nicely flowered meadows and trees. Trails very dusty. No way to cross Newton Creek without getting wet in swift water, so went up Newton Creek Trail to nice view of Hood, then reversed back. Lots of huckleberries to pick. A few other people on the trails, but not oppressive on gorgeous Wednesday in early August.
