Itinerary description
08/19/2017 Long slog uphill to start for 1.5 miles (McGee Creek trail), then along Timberline Trail, on near vertical mountain side, with tall trees, but rather sparse understory. Trail nearly washed out in a couple of places, with no place to go; would not take a dog or small children. Loop around Old Baldy provides exceptional view of Hood (best done counterclockwise). Huckleberry bushes prolific along McGee Creek, but berries all gone this August.
