Itinerary description
Excellent hike. Started at West Zigzag trailhead and walked nice flat abandoned road to Castle Canyon trailhead proper (Road 19). Trail rather steep at points, and bare slick patches require some scrambling. Wear good shoes. Remarkable rock formations at upper portion, dense ferns and mosses and good view at top. Uncrowded: a few bikers and runners on the road, only one other party on the actual trail on lovely early August Friday.
