Itinerary description
Hike starts and ends at Hone Quarry Campground. Start by walking up the Hone Quarry Road for 2.4 miles to the Pond Knob Trail. The Pond Knob Trail climbs at an exceptionally steep 23% grade to the top of Pond Knob. This was the highest elevation of the hike, at 3576 feet, 3.7 miles into the hike. Turn right on the Meadow Knob Trail. The Meadow Knob Trail is an old jeep trail, that drops breathtakingly fast - a 27% grade - before climbing back up to the summit of Oak Knob. Take the Cliff Trail back to the Campground. The Cliff Trail is below the peak of Oak Knob.
