Itinerary description
New Trail Between Lead and Deadwood, South Dakota. Maintained By Local Parks Commission and Volunteers. Begins at Lead Dog Park at Lead End - Ends At Spur to Mickelson Trail Near The Deadwood Mickelson Trail Head and Public Parking Area.

This is a nice little hike, as well as being the only current foot/biking trail--besides the Mickelson--that goes between Lead and Deadwood. It's a bit shorter than the Mickelson route, although it's probably best done outside of Winter. Cross Country (Nordic) skiers, and snowshoers would find it reasonably challenging. Telemark skis suggested, as there are some steep hills. There is also a Geocache at about the halfway point on a ridge. Enjoy! :-D
