Itinerary description

There are two sections to this hike.

The first part is in the Cies and Miep Memorial Park a lovely walk with significant elevation change. The trail goes up and around a steep forest ravine. At the top there are some lovely farmland views.

The second section takes you along the beach to Cherry Point with views across the channel to Saltspring Island. This section is best done at low tide when the sand is exposed. When the tide is in, only the upper section of the beach, composed of slippery cobbles, is exposed. WARNING: check the tide table before setting out.

There are picnic tables and a pit toilet at Cherry Point.

The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an American Volksports Association rating of 2C.
