Itinerary description
Mai Chau is one of the closest places where you can visit a Montagnard village. It is a beautiful area surrounded by a green valley and stilt houses. Most people here are the White Thai, very friendly and helpful. And staying with the local in thatched-roof stilted house on split bamboo floors and eating local food is a great experience. Nice trek in mai chau. It starts in a paved road. After about a third of the way, where the ascending ends, the road turns unpaved and the views of rice terraces, bamboo and vegetation appears and its nicer and quiet. You finish at the village of Sam Khoe where you can find a motorbike driver or bus back to mai chau. Recommended!
