The hike itself is pretty easy with a simple straightforward path for most of the hike, the only increase in difficulty comes from the heat and the middle road part which I’ll explain later.
You’ll start the hike getting out of the city, crossing some old buildings at the end and some dirty spots with garbage deposits, I know it doesn’t sounds great at all but this is really the very beginning of the hike, you’ll get out of there so fast you’ll forget this part 5 minutes after.
After that, you’ll have to follow a lovely river that you’ll cross at some point along the way, leading to a a damn forming a really nice small lake.
If you’re lucky enough Bedouin cross this path to moves their sheep in the morning so you may have a chance to see one with his army of sheep going to the Gondor battle (no kidding there is maybe 200 sheeps this is really impressive to see).
Following that, this is the only bad point i’d give to this hike. That’s the long road between Tabounte and Fint valley, it’s just a lonely road without that much to see for a solid 10km and there is no shadow spot to hide anywhere so be prepared with enough water if you do this part in the middle of the day.
After that part you’ll finally arrive to fint oasis wich is definitely worth it, you’ll get a really beautiful scenery of a really big oasis between two blacks mountains. I recommend staying there for the night as the people are very welcoming and the town is lovely. (bonus tip, the oasis configuration makes the town a little bit colder so even in the middle of the day it’s a really nice spot to wander without getting fried by the sun).
I’d say this hike is definitely worth it but be prepared to sweat and drink a lot and if you are not alone having a friend with you is definitely a game changer on this one.
