Hiking - The Shrine of Santa Cristina is perched atop a promontory between the lower end of the Val Grande and the Val di Ala valleys above the town of Lanzo.
Counterclockwise loop through a pleasant beech forest and final climb up a staircase built with stone slabs. Excellent panoramic point in all directions by walking around the shrine.
Shortly before the conclusion of the loop, the Plague Chapel was used as an isolated location to attend mass service during plague pandemics. Frescoes from AD 1577.
