Itinerary description
Hiking - Riomaggiore to Portovenere, then boat to Monterosso.
Moderate hike. The initial part up to Madonna di Montenero is steep on good terrain.
The last part towards Portovenere can be very slippery if wet, which was the case after a brief shower, due to clay soil. No particular dangers, just be cautious as proceeding sure-footed is quite difficult in a few spots.
Total hiked distance of 13 Km.
Great views and good smells from typical Mediterranean vegetation.
Access to some trails within the Cinque Terre National Park is subject to a fee but this one is free.
