Itinerary description
Hiking - The fall season has just begun and displays some foliage. Quiet hike through silent beech and chestnut woods on the way up, then a comfortable gravel (partially paved) road to return with a stop to the quaint Santuario di Marsaglia.
Parking possibility, but for a few cars only, at the start of this track. If full, go back to Monastero and try your luck at the start of my MTB track mentioned here below, as there are no parking spots along the road going to the rifugio.
Privately owned Agriturismo Rifugio Salvin (farmstay) can be reached through such road. Sitting at 1580 m (5,183 ft.) of elevation, the relatively low elevation makes it an enjoyable hike all-year-round except in case of snow.
