Itinerary description
Hiking - The Historical Trail starts from Kobarid (better known as Caporetto in Italian Language) and passes by a monument that commemorates the fallen Italian soldiers during the horrific Battle of Caporetto in October 1917. This WWI battle fought between the Italian and the Austro-Hungarian armies, and their respective allied support troops, is one among the harshest battles in history for the fighting conditions and the number of victims.
