Itinerary description
From Katterjåkk south along Stuor Kärpel. Ford Váfflojåhka, then go up and down again to Sjangeli, an old cupper mine worth seeing. Down to Unna Allaskas and cross into Norway. Here I cut of a few km by fording Rádjejokha and walking on the southern shore of Čunojávri. Up to Cáihnavággi and over the pass to Gautelis (a lot of boulders here). On over the trail to the border at Ivarstein. Here the trail is poorly marked and wrongly mapped, I took my own way until the bridge. Follow the small trail to Hukejaure, a cabin slightly off the trail but worth seeing. From Hukejaure to Sitasjaure is easy, from Sitasjaure to Ritsem is a road, I hitchhiked the last 10 km or so.

Wardens in Sitas sometimes have bikes that they rent out so you can cycle the dirt road to Ritsem. I was glad we took the offered bikes, the 30 km of dirt road would have been boring to walk.
The portion between Cáihnavággi and over the pass to Gautelis had one very unerving neve with a nasty crack leading directly into to the dark water below. Moderate difficulty but calls for attention.
