Itinerary description
Hiking - Dent du Chat (Cat's Tooth) towers above Lac du Bourget (Lake Bourget) opposed to the town of Aix-les-Bains in the Department of Savoy, France. Great location with hiking and MTB trails.
The parking area indicated in this track has room for about 30 cars, it's then suggested to go early in order to find a place.
The hike develops near the ridge and entirely through the woods, mostly beech, which is much appreciated in the warm season.
The trail has steep sections and the last 5 minutes to reach the summit may better be avoided by those who are afraid of heights. Not too dangerous and suitable to most, there are a couple of steel ladders and steel cables to provide better safety.
Magnificent view on the entire lake backed by a considerable portion of the Alps range including the majestic Mont Blanc, highest peak in Europe.
