Itinerary description
Beautiful park. Although garbage is a big problem here 😒 I did not visit this park when I was here last year and I'm surprised I did not!
I took the L15 near my hostel but it dropped me off about 2 km from the place I wanted to start hiking so you'll see I recorded my walk through a bit of the city. I suggest walking to the square and taking the L11 as it leaves you near the cable car.
Very standard hike. Nothing too difficult. It's a bit rugged so take good shoes/boots. You will see I took various shortcuts (especially coming down the road at the top: I took a steep way down to avoid most of the zigzags.)
At km 3.5, I took what I thought was a shortcut but it was just a goat trail that had me scrambling to find the trail again. So suggest to stick to the main trail (as seen on my way down).
Lastly, I wasn't sure if you were allowed up where the antennas are but I found a trail going up the ridge. It takes you to some ruins but you can somehow go past them and continue on the ridge until you get to the summit. I ran into a couple of maintenance guys on my way back but no major problems. So I assume it's OK.
