Itinerary description
Gorson Bugyal is meadow near snow and skiing destination Auli, at Uttarakhand.
The trail starts from GMVN resort in Auli. Vehicles can be parked there. Initial part of trail till Auli lake can be done in chair lift cable cars, however they were closed for maintenance when we went.
The initial climb takes you to Auli lake and cable car station. From behind the cable car station, a trail through the forest takes you to Gorson Bugyal. There's a small temple in the forest on the way.
If done in winters, this trail can be full of snow and ice patches. One has to be very careful as ice on the path is very slippery.
The trail goes through forests and opens up the in the end on the meadows. One can see the neighboring mountains from the meadows. Nandadevi peak is also visible.
Locals can be hired to guide you through the trail.
There's no availability of water or food stalls on the way except for few near cable car station in the initial part.
