Itinerary description
Deoria Tal is a lake situated at Chopta region in Uttarakhand. The lake is on top of a mountain and can be reached on foot. The hike starts from base village Sari. Vehicles can be parked at this village.
The trail is well defined with cemented footpaths at most of the places. There are food stalls being run by locals at several places on the trail.
After few minutes of initial climb, there's an ancient Mahadev temple. This is a good point to see the neighboring mountain ranges. Chandrashila peak can also be seen. We could spot Tungnath temple from this point using Binoculars.
The trail ends near the lake on the top. One can circumambulate the lake. Near the lake there's a watch tower which provides fantastic view of snow clad mountains.
