Itinerary description
This hike starts at the stop of bus 12 from Almaty to Medeo ice ring. It climbs to Kok Zhailau plateau, from there to the Three Brothers and then to Peak Kumbel (3192m).
The way from Kok Zhailau to the Three Brothers is via a path which is quite vertical and intense. The way down is through a much less steep path, which is easier and nicer for the descent.
After the peak and back to Kok Zhailau, the track descends GES-5, in the valley of the Big Almaty Lake (BAO) which is served by bus 28 to go to Almaty.
It's a long but easy downhill path that becomes asphalt in the last kms.
It's not technically difficult, but it's long and with an interesting gain.
