Itinerary description
Start / End Point - Ping Shan, Bi Ling Village, Agricultural Science and Technology Park
坪山碧岭农业科技园
Its a pretty steep climb up the hill from the back end of the resort but once at the top the Ma Luan area is a relatively flat plateau, great for summer hiking.
The trail we took down and along the valley is kinda magical and brings you out right at the top of the waterfall, the rock pools there are an awesome way to cool off too :)
We then went down to the road and up and along the valley side to the Ma Luan Farming Village on the plateau where we stopped off for a lunch of wild chicken soup and fresh fish. The trail back was partly following the greenway but mostly along rolling forest trails back to the pagoda and down the steps into the resort.
Really good summer hike, you'd need plenty of water for the first climb but you can buy more at the village along the way, plan in 6 hours and stop off for lunch at the farms - great day out!
