Itinerary description
Beautiful views of the dam from different angles. The route is unofficial.
When driving to the starting point please keep in mind that the road to the dam (after the highway) maybe somewhat bumpy and slippery after the rains.
TERRAIN: mostly dirt gravel roads and fire breakers, some parts of tarmac roads. Nice walk most of the route with some bits of high elevation fire breakers in the 2nd half of the hike and closer to the end. Sharp descent along fire breaker closer to the end as well, thus hiking poles and proper boots would be of help.
SEASON: the trail is fully exposed to the sun. Some parts of the road may be eroded by the streams and puddles after the rains.
There is a wet crossing (or fording, depending on a season) in the 2nd half of the trail.
We got into heavy rain and I got soaked inside out, thus be prepared for that in winter and spring seasons.
Some parts in the 2nd half of the trail may be flooded if the level of the water in the dam is pretty high.
SIGNS: no signs, resting places are near the dam only.
KIDS: walkable with kids starting from 8-9 yo.
