Itinerary description
An impressive park in Toronto in great condition and with a surprising number of users. There is limited parking for cars but it is easily accessible by subway (High Park Station is just north of the park) or use buses/street cars (see TTC website).
The park has streams, a large pond, beautiful trees, picnic areas, tennis courts, miles of paths as well as a children's play ground. While the park is surrounded by a busy city it is surprisingly quiet (tranquil?) maybe due to the parks large size or possibly the trees and rolling terrain. It is a haven for dog walkers and there is a special "off leash" area on the east side (can be easily avoided if you are not a fan of new found, furry, four legged friends). Lots of small wildlife (ducks, turtles, squirrels) and some informative wildlife plaques by Grenadier pond that add to the experience. Lots of opportunity to lengthen or shorten your walk and it is definitely family friendly.
Well worth seeing.

There is a restaurant at the south end of the ring road. Not top tier, but good for breakfast and cup of coffee. (Grenadier restaurant - not open during Covid)
