Itinerary description

A 5-day guided tour around the peak of Toubkal with stops at CAF Refuge Lepiney and Les Mouflons (2 nights each). We did it at the end of Jan, when the daytime temperatures are comfortably warm, no wind and clouds, and nights are only slightly freezing.
DAY 1: Imlil to CAF Refuge Lepiney across the pass Tizi n Mzik - 15 km along quite an easy track;
DAY 2: CAF Refuge Lepiney up- and downhill to Plateau de Tazaghart and the peak Talat n'Ifri (3980 m) - a lot of climbing in the snow;
DAY 3: CAF Refuge Lepiney up to the pass Tizi n'Tadat with ascent to Biiguinoussenne (3976 m), followed by sharp climbing down to Les Mouflons refuge - a lot of mud and stone scree along the track;
DAY 4: a fast visit of peak Toubkal (4167 m) - a relatively easy track, which we did in 2 hours up and 1 hour down; to complete the day we went to the neighbouring peaks Timesguida (4088 m) and Ras Ounoukrim (4083 m). This part is arguably the hardest along the route as it consists of a long ascent along the snowy track, as well as rock climbing;
DAY 5: a 4-hour road from Les Mouflons refuge down to Imlil.

    Hello! Yes, the guide is obligatory, but in practice I think it is possible to sneak in on your own, as long as you keep away from the checkpoints.

    Hi! Sorry, maybe you remember, how many checkpoint were on your way from Imlil to Toubkal summit via Refugee Lepiney. Really want to to do this trek on my own, don't like idea to go with some guy I don't know and whom I must pay :/

    hey,
    No, unfortunately I didn't keep track of the checkpoints upon the way, but you need to understand that this is the main route to the mountains, and all the tourist groups are using it. No-one was ever checking our dox upon the route or anything, so it's hard to say if there is such practice. But booking a refugee is impossible without hiring a guide, and tents are prohibited.
