Itinerary description
A hike from Hertford North to Tewin and back via Panshanger Park including a new footpath opened in June 2019.
From Hertford North Station, on roads and footpaths to Panshanger Park, which has only been open to the public since 2014. Take the Dragonfly Trail then a path by the River Mimram, a clear chalk stream. Continue by the lakes on a new path that opened June 2019, then out of Panshanger Park and on public footpaths to Tewin for a possible stop at a pub.
Continue on public footpaths back to the north side of Panshanger Park then through Lady Hughe's Wood and on roads and footpaths back to Hertford.
Total distance is 8.75 mls (14.1 km) with some small hills, nearly all on footpaths or bridleways.
