Itinerary description
One of the biggest waterfalls in Finland - Hepoköngäs. The main walking road to the lean-to/firepit on top of the waterfall (and next to it) is wheelchair accessible. The Geopolku-route we did, Geopolku, is not.
The small path is rather rocky and slippery and starts by descending multiple wooden stairs so basic surefootness is required. It does offer nice insights into the nature both surrounging you and with info signs telling about different things like the type of rocks and how they formed like that. Most of the trail you can admire the flowing river on the left and steep, mossy cliff on the right. Trail is rather well marked with red markings.
Hepoköngäs was the nature destination of the year 2022.

Relatively big parking lot, also well maintained during winter. Clear signs right from the start. There's also an outhouse next to the parking lot.

Wooden stairs
Picture taken after coming down the stairs, so if you follow the signs you're descending them not climbing.
