Itinerary description

This hike on the Heliotrope Ridge Trail climbed to the climbers base camp at the toe of the glacier. It is a moderate hike in terms of distance and elevation gain but the creek crossings are difficult rock hopping and the climb up the moraine is a grunt for hikers. The flowers in the meadow beside the moraine were at their peak, Over 30 climbers were heading to the base came as we hiked up to enjoy the views of the Coleman glacier and Mt Baker.
