Itinerary description
This hike combines 2 "national" parks. It starts at Heilongtan Scenic area. After the walk through the canyon you end up at the terminus of this park. You then have 2 choices. return to the start or continue into Yungmenshan mountain. To do this you have to go through the turnstiles which will cost you an additional 20rmb/person. You can then continue for another 1.5-2 hours up to the summit. From there you can return down the mountain on foot along the same path or take the cable car (100rmb/person). Once back down the mountain you can go back via Heilongtan Scenic area (the way you came up) or go down to the main road by shuttle bus (20rmb/person). From the main road you will need to catch a taxi or bus back to the car park at Heilongtan. After 1200m of climbing thats what we did - cable car/shuttle bus and taxi. A very smooth journey but going on a bank holiday weekend was a questionable decision.
