Itinerary description
This is an easy walk in terms of skills - moderate in terms of length. Of course you can shorten it and turn around at any point. We went as far as the spooky abandoned mansion.
For a Melbourne-based hike that you can do by public transport, it's a great option.
If you go after rain, poles can be handy in one or two muddy spots.
The thing that surprised me most on this hike was the range of wildlife. In addition to European foxes and rabbits, we saw a wallaby, kangaroos, and echidna, a wombat and even caught a brief glimpse of a platypus in the Yarra river. Amazingly, we didn't see any snakes.
Enjoy!
