Itinerary description
This is a nice Conservation Area with a surprising amount of variety. My hike was based on the trail posted by LeslieP (also called Heber Down) with a couple of minor variations. There are several places to park - on Lyndebrook Rd (where I started) at the end of the road (plenty of spaces there) or in the pay parking area within the park (noted on the map as a waypoint).
The hike starts out flat and pushes through a marsh passing underneath some power lines.Followed by forest, streams, a pond, some noticeable elevation changes, and a park like setting near the official parking area. Lots of variety to the scenery including meadows, a farmers field and one area that was almost desert like (very sandy and stunted growth).
The trail was in great shape with lots of signage and numerous intersections and opportunity to shorten/lengthen your hike. This hike will take you on all three of the listed trails (Railway, Devil's Den and Springbank) and loops back to your start point. Maps were posted near the start and at the parking area.
A popular trail with lots of dog walkers and could also be done on a mountain bike. It's worth a visit!

This is a 'pay' parking area and is accessed off Lyndebrook Road (just west of where this hike starts/finishes. There is a map posted and an information board with wildlife information and some of the areas history. Washrooms are also here.

This is where the trail turns into a loop. I would recommend going right/straight to start but the trail could be done in either direction.
