Itinerary description
(en) Short hike over a lava field on the rim of the Pu'u Huluhulu Crater. The crater is overgrown by a very lush vegetation. From the viewpoint one can see the Pu’u O’o (who currently produces most of the lava) in the distance. We had not enough time to do that, but it may be worthwhile to wait at the viepoint until darkness (don't forget a flashlight). It may be possible to see the glow of Pu’u O’o when it is dark.
