Itinerary description
Haugabreen is an easy accessible glacier arm in Jostedalsbreen National Park.
To get to this glacier you will drive through magnificent landscape of Stardalen valley. You start the tour at the car park at the end of the forest road (toll road, 50 Kr) up from Høyset to Haugadalen. You walk for five minutes and come to the idyllic Haugastøylen. From here you follow the well-marked path along the glacier river Driva that runs through the dramatic glacier landscape. From the valley floor, the path goes up in somewhat steep terrain to the viewpoint at Haugabreen. In this ascent there is a lot of loose rock and gravel. It can be slippery to walk on the rocks here when rainy.
