Hatta signboard hike - From hatta wadi hub to hatta signboard - Hatta
Parking:
We parked at the Hatta Wadi Hub parking. You can easily find this by google “Hatta Wadi Hub by Dubai Holding“.

Google Coordinates: 24.815245398344537, 56.162764056178
Sedan can reach without any issues as its proper road all the way.
Starting:
From the Parking, you can go ahead straight, passing though the wooden bridge towards Damani lodges. Then you turn right side, towards Mountain Bike area. Soon you will come to intersections where you can choose different paths. We choose the right most path, parallel to the fence. You will see a sign post with 2 arrows - mentioned “3” in Green background, and “The Dam”.
First part of the hike is going through flat land, you will go parallel to the water path. You will come across 3 dams – first 2 are small and the last one is big dam. As per google, its “Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Dam”. Once you reached this DAM, you turn left and continue with the flat land. Now it will go surrounding a gated land, inside you can see many plants/trees. As you cannot cross this gated land, you need to go surrounding it to come to the other side. Then the ascending starts.
Ascending:
Beginning of the ascending is bit steep climb, once you reached a certain level of the mountain, trail goes parallel in the mountain which is easy. After sometime Hatta sign board will be visible. The Trail continues towards the sign board in round way. So when we reached the point just below the sign board, we took a short cut and climbed the steep hill directly and reached to the Sign board.
Descending:
In the backside of the Sign board, there is a clear 4x4 road going towards down. We took that and its goes all the way to the same starting point.
We saw some people do the hike in reverse way – they climbed through this 4x4 road towards signboard and descend in other side. We feel the way we did is more easy as climbing up in 4x4 road seems more difficult and less scenery.
Our hike vs Hatta Trail routes:
We didn’t follow any official trail routes, as we were not sure which one to follow. But we have noted some of the trail points we came across. Those are Zaam, Asal, Dhahiah. Once we done with hiking, we tried to understand and map the trail we followed with the official trail routes. You can see that in one of the pictures attached.
Overall, the hike is easy and marked trail is there all over – only you need to choose which one to follow.
Note:
Hatta Wadi hub is closed during summer period. Not sure whether they allowed to do hiking during that time. If not you need to park somewhere else and do the hiking.
