Itinerary description
jered ehmej is along the most tricky areas for hiking, although its is full of marvelous natural formations, it is very tricky to hike in,
i parked in ehmej and started the hike following the side trail of the LMT, the trail is not fully clear at some parts,
i did 3 detours from the LMT, the first was to visit the first grotto, the entrance is a bit hidden but once u find it you will be amazed by its size, but be sure to have a headlight and be careful if u want to adventure inside, the second detour was to leave the LMT to enter the Tellej, it is a a small pass between very high rock formations, after visiting it u can go back and continue on the LMT but i chose to climb the wall to the top, and that is a very risky thing if u don’t have climbing skills, so it is at your own risk, the third detour was to visit the third grotto, it is also very nice but less impressive than the first one,
after coming back to the LMT i faced a road closure at a certain point with multiple concertina layers , decided to go back to the third grotto and go down to reach the road beneath, the descent was off trail and steep but not vey long, after gaining the road i continued on it back to the intersection with the LMT
amazing trail but only recommended for experienced and adventurous hikers
