Itinerary description
A linear walk from Hanora's Cottage in the Nire Valley, County Waterford to the entrance to Loch Mohra (also known as the Old Scout Hut), near the village of Rathgormack.
East West map of the Comeraghs (1:25,000)
Trail begins at 250 140 marked on the map as Nire Church. First part is on the road, reaching Nire car park and turning left, uphill. This narrow but very distinct trail continues for several kilometers until you reach the top of the ridge, before descending to Loch Comduala (a suitable spot for lunch)
You will then head for the forest, crossing a rather awkward barbed wire fence and through a narrow gap in the trees to reach the commercial stone track. You are then about 40 minutes from the end of the trail: the information board at the entrance to Loch Mohra.
Allow three and a half to four hours for comfort.
