Itinerary description
This hike follows different trails to get to its destination so you’ll need to follow it closely here on Wikiloc. It goes through many fields where you need to navigate from one walk-through stile to the next, and tiny, winding forest paths - sometimes a bit overgrown -, so good shoes and perhaps long pants are also recommended.
Lovely outdoorsy trail tho, and at approximately 15km - out of nowhere - you hit this forest restaurant ‘Gut Entenpfuhl’ where you can have a big icecream ;-)
Don’t expect much from crossing the border. We only found one rock with the letter ‘B’ on the Belgian side (see picture).
In Aachen we visited the beautiful Dom (free entry) and you can take the train back to Welkenraedt.

This is a fantastic trail -- I really enjoyed following it. Unfortunately, the author uploaded only a few photos which do not fully reflect the entire beauty of the landscapes surrounding the trail. That is you will enjoy it much more than you can expect based on the photos. The route is easy to follow and there are no underwater stones -- just follow and enjoy.
I just finished this trail, slightly adapting it to my preferences, and very thankful to the author.
Highly recommended!
