Itinerary description
A nice tract of land that is sandwiched between a couple other trail areas - Eldred King sits to the north and Patterson is just to the south (see alternate Wikiloc entries for those areas). The atmosphere/feel is quite nice but you do have to ignore a metal scrap yard at the start and make sure you stay off the Archery club property at the end.
The actual trail is in good shape and is multi-use for hikers, bikes and horseback riding and varies from very wide down to a foot path. The forest is mixed (conifers, maple, poplar) with some re-forested areas and some older growth. A couple of small streams, a fair number of birds but not much ground wildlife was spotted.
Parking is available at the start location (and a porta potty) as well as a large map of the tract. There are many, many intersections so a map is very handy and I listed some of the major intersections as way points. A nice tract that is typical of forests in the area and the rolling landscape made it a pleasurable visit.
