Gunung Trus Madi (G2)

Mount Trusmadi or Trus Madi is a mountain located at the Interior Division of Sabah, Malaysia. It is considered as the second highest mountain in both Sabah and Malaysia at 2,642 metres, after Mount Kinabalu with Trusmadi offering a tougher climbing challenge than the latter. - Wikipedia -

🚩 Level of Difficulty: Hard 8/10
🚩 Start and ended at same trail head
🚩 Weather: Sunny
🚩 2D1N out and back hiking 26 KM

✴️ Hard. Not suitable for beginner. Only experience hikers
✴️ For Sinua trail, both Camp 1 & 2 only can cater 30 hikers per day.
✴️ Porter available for hired. 1KG RM 8.00, minimum 10KG.

There are 3 routes to summit:
1️⃣ Wayaan Kaingaran Tambunan
4.9 KM. Most easier trail
2️⃣ Wayaan Mastan Keningau
4.3 KM. Most difficult trail
3️⃣ Wayaan Mannan Sinua
11.3 KM. Most longest trail

Initerary:
🔹 Day 01: Friday, 25 Nov 2022 🔹
Kota Kinabalu town to Sinua Trusmadi Taniskon Lodge
▪️Depart from KK town to Taniskon Lodge. Also known as Camp 1. Driving distance 4-5 hrs to reach here.
▫️Well equipped facilities, you will stay in dormitory. Can upgrade your room to private twin sharing, MYR 80.00 per room, double decker room MYR 60.00.
▪️Limited internet access.
▫️Can keep your access luggage here. No need to bring up to Camp 2.
▪️Can take shower after your hike before going back to your destination

Side Note:
🔸🔸Grocery shop NOT available here. Please fill up all your stuffs before check in.
🔸🔸Weather at camp 1 not so cold. For comfortability, bring a pillow & sleeping bag

🔹Day 02: Saturday, 26 Nov 2022🔹
Camp 1 ➡️ Camp 2
▪️Wake up at 0600 hrs and prepare for today hike.
▫️ Transferred by 4WD from Camp 1 to trail head. 1KM distance takes about 10 minutes
▪️From here walk 8KM to Camp 2. Solo hikers or duos can reach in 3-4 hours. Group hikers took about 4-6 hours depending on fitness and group size.
▫️2 water points and can refill your water, safe to drink
▪️Ideal to reach here before 1500 hrs.
▫️Will stay in 18 beds / 12 beds dorm. The weather is super cold at night.
▪️Food will prepare by kitchen crew. They cook damn nice food.

Side Note:
🔸🔸Can ask for hot water, self bring 3 in 1 coffee and instant noodle.
🔸🔸Weather very cold at night.

🔹Day 03: Sunday, 27 Nov 2022🔹
▪️Wake up at 0000 hrs for summit attack.
▫️Start hiking at 0100 hrs and reach summit at 0530 hrs
▪️4.3KM one way from Camp 2 to Summit. Then return to Camp 2 and continue to descend to Camp 1 for another 8KM.
▫️Must reach trail head by 1800 hrs otherwise will impose overtime penalty
▪️Longest hike 16.6 KM for today (4.3 + 4.3 + 8KM)
▫️Took 4WD back to Camp 1, after shower and dinner, transferred back to Kota Kinabalu town. About 4 hours drive

Side Note:
🔸🔸Can arrange staying at Camp 2 for another one day. Take more rest and hike down on the next day.
