Sub Station Monggis ↗️ Kulat Camp ↗️ Pondok Kera ↗️ Kepuakan Kem ↗️ Musang Camp ↗️ Jeneral Camp ↗️ Gunung Tambuyukon Summit ↘️ Sub Station Monggis Park Office
Trail Head Information:
🚩 Located at Ranau, Sabah
🚩 Level of Difficulty: Very Hard 8/10
🚩 Start and ended at Park HQ
🚩 4th highest mountain in Malaysia [G4] & Sabah
🚩 Elevation: 2,579 meter
🚩 Out and back 4D3N hiking about 29.93 KM (Officially declared 28KM)
Note:
✴️ A standard 4D3N hike and camp trip
✴️ Not for beginner. Must be physically and mentally strong to complete the trail.
✴️ Carrying load about 16 KG daily. Must bring own tent
✴️ Only can accomodate 9 pax / trip (day)
✴️ A lot of leeches from start until end
✴️Can hired personal porter (book in advanced). RM 12.00/KG (day), min 10KG

🔹A day before....
Stay a night at KK town. Private van pick up at 0700 hrs the next morning, direct transferred to trail head at Sub Station Monggis.
🔹 Day 01: Thursday, 13 July 2023 🔹
Trail Head to Kera Camp
Trail Head ➡️ Pondok Kulat ➡️ KM 2 ➡️ KM 3 ➡️ Pondok Kera 🏕️
◾Start from Park Office (TH) to Pondok Kera
◽1st KM very steep. Lots of leeches.
◾Suppose to overnight at Kem Kepuakan. But some line up cant make it and guide decided to overnight here
◽ Overnight at Pondok Kera, water point available, only water pipe, can't shower
🔹Day 02: Friday, 14 July 2023 🔹
Pondok Kera to Musang Camp
Pondok Kera ➡️ Pondok Wuluh ➡️ Kepuakan Camp ➡️ Musang Camp 🏕️
◾ 6 KM journey all the way up
◽ Need to cross a river, might stuck at here if heavy rain
◾ Overnight at Musang Camp, water point 15 minutes away from campsite, water pipe, can't shower.
◽ Heavy rain & storm from 1900 hrs onward. My tent flooding & didnt sleep all night.
◾ Get ready at 1:00AM for summit attack.
🔹Day 03: Saturday, 15 July 2023 🔹
Musang Canp to Summit to Kepuakan Camp
Musang Camp ➡️ Jeneral Camp ➡️ Rock Garden ➡️ Rajah Camp ➡️ Summit ➡️ Kepuakan Camp 🏕️
◾ After breakfast, start at 0113 hrs for summit attack
◽ Normally it took 4-6 hours +- to Summit. Strong wind & extremely cold at Summit
◾ Tough hike especially from Rock Garden to Summit
◽ After summit, return back to Musang Camp. Packing and descend down to Kepuakan Camp.
▪️Overnight at Kepuakan Camp, water point available. River just beside campsite, can shower and have fun here.
🔹 Day 04: Sunday, 16 July 2023 🔹
Kepuakan Camp to Trail Head
Kepuakan Camp ➡️ Sungai Wuluh ➡️ Pondok Wuluh ➡️ Pondok Kulat ➡️ Trail Head 🏁
◾ 8KM all the way down to Park office. Normally it took 4-5 hours
◽ Reached trail head at 1213 hrs
◾ Clean up and shower at park office while waiting for other hikers.
◽ Transferred back to Kota Kinabalu town by private van. Stop at Kundasang town for lunch, the ayam panggang madu very nice.
🔹The day after....
Overnight at KK town. Next day morning take domestic flight from Kota Kinabalu airport back to Penang. Trip end.

📝 Compulsory. Apply with Kinabalu Park
🥷 Compulsory. 1guide = 3 hikers. Max 9 hikers.

Sub Station Monggis Park HQ Info:
◾Basic facilities available... Washroom, hall for overnight, kitchen.
◽Those who want overnight here a day before, RM 10 per pax.
◾Need to prepare own food if you overnight here
◽From KK town to Sub Station Monggis took about 2.5 - 3.5 hours.
◾No coverage for phone & internet here.

1334 hrs Sub station Serinsim to Mt. Nambuyukong. If from Serinsim to Mt. Tambuyukon need 6D5N (temporary the trail was closed).
Mt. Tambuyukon Summit
Reached 0612 hrs Finally completed all my G5 ✌️ 🖼️ 3/6: with Guide
