Itinerary description
Ascent and descent of Gunung Sirabayak. We departed from Berastagi without a guide in the early morning (6 am). The trail is easy to follow and to walk. Going in the dark by ourselves (ie without a guide) to see the sunrise at the crater was disencouraged because it could be dangerous. Our estimation is that it would have been challenging but also adventerous. You do need a proper headlight. But always hati hati of course. We skipped the hotspring because we didn’t feel so hot.
