Gunung Murud 3D2N Hiking Trip

Trail Head Information:
🚩 Located at Ba'kelalan, District of Lawas, Sarawak
🚩 Level of Difficulty: Hard 7/10
🚩 Start and ended at Lepo Bunga
🚩 6th highest mountain in Malaysia [G6] & Most Highest in Sarawak
🚩 Out and back hiking 3D2N about 19.23 KM

Note:
✴️ A standard 3D2N hike and camp trip
✴️ Not for beginner. Must be physically and mentally strong to complete the trail.
✴️ Carrying load about 11KG daily. Mountain hut available for overnight, no need to bring tent
✴️ Good news 😁 no leeches
✴️ Mostly muddy trail & get ready for dirty shoes
✴️ Church Camp is a holy ground. No smoking and no alcohol allowed

Initerary:
🔹A day before....
Take domestic flight at Miri Aiport to Lawas Airport by MASWing. Overnight at Lawas town.
Next day morning, after breakfast transferred by 4WD to Ba'kelalan. Journey took 6-7 hours for 144 KM. Stay at Apple lodge and get ready for tomorrow hike.

🔹 Day 01: Thursday, 31 August 2023 🔹
Lepo Bunga to Church Camp
Ba'kelalan 🛺 ➡️ Lepo Bunga ➡️ Joy Bridge ➡️ Batu Linanit ➡️ Church Camp 🛖

◾ Transferred by 4WD to Lepo Bunga (Trail Head). Distance of 18KM for 1.5 hours
◽ Your 3D2N hiking trip begin here.
◾ Start from Lepo Bunga to Church Camp
◽ All the way up until Joy Bridge.
◾ After Batu Linanit, muddy trail all the way up until Church Camp
◽ Overnight at Church Camp , water point available, can shower. Water is from river & raining water. Weather is cold at night. Must bring sleeping bag & mat

🔹Day 02: Friday, 01 September 2023 🔹
Church Camp to Summit to Church Camp
Church Camp ➡️ Waterfall ➡️ Rock Garden ➡️ Last Water Point ➡️ Summit ➡️ Church Camp 🛖
◾ Wake up at 6am, breakfast and prepare for Summit (day pack).
◽ Normally it took 4 hours +- to Summit.
◾ Weather: Sunny.
◽ Stop at Rock Garden for photos. Nice natural animal look alike rock sculpture
◾After summit, return back to Church Camp. Overnight here

🔹 Day 03: Saturday, 02 September 2023 🔹
Church Camp to Lepo Bunga
Church Camp ➡️ Batu Linanit ➡️ Joy Bridge ➡️ Lepo Bunga 🏁
◾ All the way down to trail head
◽About 3 hours+- of hike for 4.5KM.
◾ Transferred back to Ba'kelalan by 4WD. Overnight at Apple lodge
◽ Weather: Sunny

🔹The day after....
After breakfast transferred back to Lawas town by 4WD. About 6 hours journey. Stay at night at Lawas town.

Next morning, take domestic flight back to Miri. Trip end.

Remark:
🔸Due to limited flight available to Ba'kelalan airport, we opt travelling from Lawas to Ba'kelalan by 4WD. In fact travelling time is more tired than hiking. 😔

🔸Ba'kelalan is a small town with no electricity & water supply. Electricity is based on solar panels, and water is supply from river. 😚

马来西亚18座高峰G18 ～ 最后一座山峰Mt. Murud终于完成了。走了三天两夜，最难的不是登山，而是在奔波的路上。

要进入园区登山口，有两个选择。（一）程塔飞机直接进入Ba'kelalan, 或（二）程塔飞机进入Lawas, 再乘坐四轮驱动车前往Ba'kelalan。前者飞机航班有限，如果要配合登山时间的话，很难安排到。大多数人会选择后者，及先抵达Lawas，然后再进入Ba'kelalan。这个选择比较明确，但路途遥远非常疲惫需要6-7小时车程才能抵达。

Ba'kelalan是个小村庄，这里的人口大约只有一千多个人，几乎都是伦巴望族（Lun bawang)。村庄由13个村落（Kampung) 组成, 拥有9名村长 (Ketua Kampung) 及一名首席村长Penghulu。这里没有水电供应，村民只能自己安装太阳能板取电，以及使用河水。网络方面也较落后，只能使用3G。4G一些地方勉强还可以。

我们在苹果民宿Apple Lodge睡一晚，隔天开始登山。从这里进入登山口还需要一趟四轮驱动车载送，时需一小时半。到了Lepo Bunga 登山口我们就开始了3天2夜的徒步。

从登山口到达营地Church Camp需要大约4-5小时，路程会经过Joy Bridge 以及 Batu Linanit。起初的一小时都是上波路直到快乐桥，过后就是走在钢铁道上一直到 Batu Linanit。从这里起几乎都是烂泥路直到营地。

这条登山路线不需要携带帐篷，三天两夜都是住在屋子里，非常舒适。晚间天气非常冷需要携带睡袋和睡垫。Church Camp这里是一块圣地，信徒朝圣的地点，不可吸烟，不可饮酒。这里有数百间房屋，每座房子都是由Ba'kelalan 的每户家族所搭建（一户一房）。

隔天吃完早餐我们就准备攻顶了，耗时大约4小时。路程经过岩石花园 Rock Garden，非常壮观漂亮。这里非常神奇，拥有类似动物形状的岩石有如：大象，鱼，海马，熊猫等。。。当你到达这里距离山顶就不远了，走着走着就抵达山顶了。此时此刻太激动了，终于完成了我的梦想G18。😁 山顶风景优美，180度的美景任由你拍美照。等待人齐大合照及吃饱后我们就下山了回到Church Camp。

第三天，吃完早饭后就带着依依不舍的心情下山了。走了大约三个小时终于抵达登山口。然后就乘坐四轮驱动车回到民宿。就这样愉快的3天2夜登山徒步之旅就此圆满结束。隔天一早，以同样的方式回到Lawas。毕 ——

Mt. Murud trail is manage by Lun bawang community. Engage with local tour operator and they will arrange everything for you.
