Itinerary description
A beautiful hike along a mountain stream that was running even in the driest parts of September. Plan on getting wet feet. It is possible to rock-hop and keep your shoes dry but what's the fun of that? The gradient is gentle, with no extended climbs. Footing is a mix of loose and consolidated rock.
You may see everything from local children in flipflops to serious mountain climbers. We each paid a 16,500 soum entry fee (August 2023) a few hundred meters past where we parked. A robust 4x4 can drive up to the entry gate to park. There is a convenience store in the town below the trail for water, etc.
