Itinerary description
Gubeikou jinshanling :
to start at gubeikou, follow GPS track (it goes into what seems to be an abandoned military camp) and then reach wall by climbing throught the bushes.
follow wall and pay gubeikou fee (25RMB). At the end of gubeikou, the wall enters a military zone so you have to leave it. A nice trail throught the valley (follow the many red dots along the trail) brings you back to the wall at jinshanling (at the end, we cutted short but it was not a great idea as you come back on the trail with many scratches on your legs). pay fee of 65RMB required to enter the Jinshanling section. We went as far as Kylin Tower then walked back to Eastern Five-window Tower and quitted the wall at the latest possible exit (0.5 hour hike to East Entrance) to easily find a transport back to Gubeikou.
We expected to reach Simatai but we were told by many people that a fence and guard would not allow you to continue. We did not hike up to there to see if it was really impossible to go further, also knowing that the entrance to the newly restaured portion of Simatai costs 150RMB.
