Itinerary description
The 1st of February 2015 the village of Guaro celebrated the Day of the Almond Tree. Postponed a week due to the late blossom this year. The Local Government organised activities in the village, including tow hiking routes, one short one for families, and a 9 km route. We joined the longer route and we departed after registration at 10oc. The route follows unpaved country roads but sometimes over cement, and has an accumulative ascent of 575 meters. It has nothing in particular to recommend it. We saw some almond trees, but not as many as we expected. Trainee guides accompanied the hundreds of hikers taking part. Being an event organised by the Local Government, we expected some explanations of the almond and its importance in the area, but there was nothing provided. In conclusion, not a very recommendable route.
