Itinerary description
Clockwise: Starting from Guájar Alto, the path takes you on a twisting & winding 600m ascent, your mind gets distracted from the climb as you pass through very pleasant countryside going up to the ridge. This is the highest ascent of the hike & is always good to get it done with at the very beginning.
The trail undulates through Almond & Olive trees & eventually you reach a Medieval Castillejo which looks over towards the pueblo of Guájar-Fondón, from there the trail leads through wooded countryside & finally makes its way back to Guájar-Alto.
This is a very scenic trail, it’s challenging but well worth the effort.
The paths were all clearly marked with most being in an excellent condition. A few of them are a little tricky/slippery due to loose stones so hiking poles are advised.
