Itinerary description

At 806m Gros Morne Mountain is the second highest on the island of Newfoundland. A 15km trail takes you to the summit then beyond to a beautiful viewing stage overlooking Ten Mile Pond. From there you traverse down the SE side of the mountain looping back to a point where you made your ascent. Hundreds of people do this hike annually with an average of 6 hours to complete the hike.

    Excelente ruta con excelentes vistas. La ida bastante dura por el derrame de rocas. La vuelta súper cómoda, para disfrutar.

    Cuando yo fui la aproximación por el lado izquierdo del río estaba cerrada. No quedó otra que hacerla por el lado derecho, 3km más larga pero con pendiente más moderada, y con el regalo de una cascada portentosa.

    I climbed the scree and boulder slope, spent a half hour at the top then descended the very gradual trail back to the beginning of the loop. I am 76 and in good physical condition and I owe my success to hours spent at the gym on the Stairmaster!
