Itinerary description
Easy and relaxing walk in a great area which is easily accessible.
This walk starts from a relatively small ( and little known) parking space quite near the waters of Leersumse veld. It offers a variety of landscapes and is a treat in any season.
Beware though: some parts near the waters are only accessible outside the breeding season (March 15 - August 1). In those months you just take another loop , there are plenty of paths.
As you can gather from some of the photos: many fens had fallen dry, due to the warm, dry and extraordinary summer and autumn of 2018.
Crossing the N 226 road (at times pretty busy) is easy via a tunnel for cyclists and hikers.
